The Winter Car Control Skid Clinic is a unique event teaching all drivers, young and old, expert techniques for surviving the dangers and traps of low-friction surfaces including rain, snow and ice, combined with the typical poor visibility that accompanies these conditions.

How Does the Winter Car Control Skid Clinic Work?

Everyone knows that sickening feeling when the car loses traction and starts to skid under braking or sideways around a turn or on a freeway ramp. Instant loss of control and a very uncertain future. What’s happening? What can I do? How will this end?

In the Winter Car Control Skid Clinic you will learn:

• What are Contact Patches and how to manage them.

• Why foresight is more important than hindsight. Things to look for.

• What is brake modulation and how it can save your bacon.

• What is the first thing I must do to recover control of a skidding car?

• Seven tricks to make winter driving safer and more successful.

• Four things they never told you to keep in the trunk.

• How it actually feels when the car is out of control?

• What can I do about the other nuts on the road?

The Importance of your own psychomotor skills to Car Control:

Your personal session at the Winter Car Control Skid Clinic will last for 90 minutes broken into 3 segments:

• Warm-up: A 20 minute discussion of the principles of Low-Traction Car Control and the next 70 minutes of the program:

• The Action: 50 minutes of actual skidding and braking control in the cars with the instructors.  Cars will be provided by the Clinic.

• Wrap-up: A 15 minute question and answer period and review of your experiences.

You must have a valid Driver's License (not a learner's permit) to attend.  Register now because space is limited.

Price & Cancellation Policy -- Tuition is $99 per driver. The tuition is non-refundable, nor changeable to another clinic date.
